Cleanse-prep: Procrastination City!

I don’t want to do this cleanse. It’s so much easier to keep eating like I have been, and not have to shop for all of the special ingredients, and spend all that money, and eat separate meals–not to mention the actual preparation and consumption of said “meals”, which are all going to be green or liquid and not even close to chocolate-flavored.

That said, here’s my first Journal entry (see this blog for an explanation of the format):

Triumphs: I made my shopping list for five days of the “morning cocktail”. I’m going to buy organic whenever possible.

  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • Lemons and/or limes, for juicing, enough for 1/3 cup per day
  • Fresh garlic, 15-25 cloves
  • Fresh ginger, 2.5″
  • Cayenne Pepper
  • Oranges for juicing, enough for 2 cups per day

This is a Triumph because I’ve been putting this off for long enough, and I’ve finally stopped procrastinating.

Makeovers: That Triumph counts as a Makeover, too, because it’s something that I’ve done to feel better about myself. Aside from that, I finally colored my hair this morning, and got some stretching exercises in. It felt good, but crunchy, to move a little.

Challenges: This could get expensive. I have to buy a lot of specialty foods, on top of my regular grocery shopping, since I’m the only one in my house to be doing the cleanse. Money is a little tight, so this is going cleanse pullquoteto take some fancy footwork.

Intentions: I intend that I actually look at the Sprouts ad when it comes in the mail this week (I usually just throw it away with the mountain of other ads it comes buried in), and shop their sales. They usually have really good produce prices. Between them, Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods, I should be able to pull this off. Then, I intend that I shop for everything I need later this week.

Current Conditions: Feeling a little better, now that I’ve done this much. Well begun is halfway done, right?

Daily Thanksgiving: I’m thankful that my doctor was able to see that I needed her to push me into this. I probably wouldn’t have done it on my own–at least, not until after the holidays, and I probably would be several pounds heavier by then. I’m grateful that I finally live near the kinds of stores I need to pull this off (for many, many years I did not).

An effective alternative to New Year’s Resolutions

One year ago, I started an online Shape Shifting group on Facebook, instead of setting New Year’s Resolutions. Since then—using the Shape Shifter’s Daily Diary format—I have lost 35 pounds, I’ve gone from sedentary to walking at least 20 miles per week, I published a best-selling book, in addition to many other goals. And I didn’t quit after only a week into the year, like I always did with Resolutions. I stuck with it, because it’s fun and challenging. And IT WORKS.

I’ll tell you how I did it, and how you can do it too, on my BlogTalkRadio show, starting on January 8 … right around the time you start losing interest in those Resolutions.

I know this sounds like a sales pitch, and I apologize for that. I’ve never been comfortable tooting my own horn, but Shape Shifting really does work if you make the effort. And it doesn’t have to cost you anything—yes, I’d love it if you’d purchase a book, but it’s available for free if you can’t afford it—so I’m not really selling anything. All I’m doing is suggesting that you give it a try.

Stepping thru the veil in 2012

Happy New Year! I’m excited to finally see 2012, the year it’s all supposed to change. What is supposed to change, no one knows for sure, but … whatever it is … I’m starting off the year with a new Shape Shifter’s Daily Diary.*

Yes, that’s a shameless plug, but it’s still true. After I wrote Shape Shifting–reclaiming YOUR perfect body, many readers  asked if there was a workbook. So I created the Daily Diary for them, and it really works! There have been times that I’ve had to put my Daily Diary aside for a while because things were manifesting too quickly for me to keep up with. (The cover art is of an androgynous person “stepping through the veil of consciousness” into a lighter way of being.)

Anyway,  because Jeff and I are moving from Florida to Arizona in just a few days, and I have so many things to keep track of and try to accomplish, I cracked open a brand new Diary to keep track of my Goals, Challenges, Intentions, etc (see * for explanation).

My primary goals for the next few months are (in no particular order, and starting after we arrive in Arizona):

1. Buy a house;
2. Finish writing Sink or Swim
3. Get Amnesty for Abuse off the ground
4. Start shopping my next book;
5. Get back in shape! (The past few months–with my dad’s death, the holidays and the move–have created havoc with my weight.)

And those are just the BIG goals! I didn’t even mention the everyday life stuff. As you can see, I have my work cut out for me. I hope you all will be my cheerleaders!

Here are today’s Challenges and Intentions from my Diary:

Challenges: We’re in limbo. It’s New Year’s Day (our third wedding anniversary), the house is packed and needs to be cleaned. We’re having a “happy hour” in the yard to say goodbye to our neighbors. We have lots of crap food and are both pretty frazzled. I’m having a hard time being excited about the future. I’m very tired of living like this.

Intentions: Only three more days and we’ll be in the truck. Our new life is beginning so I intend to focus on how exciting that is! Until then, I’m not going to worry about food too much. I intend that I enjoy Florida while I’m still here and have a great day today!

I’ll keep ya posted as the story unfolds!

* FROM THE SHAPE SHIFTING WEBSITE: Using five powerful creation components—Triumphs, Makeovers, Challenges, Intentions & Epiphanies—this Diary will help you to not only create and keep track of accomplishments (one of the most important parts of manifesting … feeling grateful for the good things in life), but to also recognize and reframe any roadblocks.

The Law of Attraction states that, “Like attracts like.” In other words, we can’t have what we want in our physical reality until we feel we already have it. You can not be rich if you feel poor. You can not be thin if you feel fat. You can not win if you feel like a loser. So how do you feel like you are what you are not? It is a frustrating paradox.

The Shape Shifter’s Daily Diary is not just a journal, it is a creation tool. While using it, you flow into a new “You,” in the same way that river currents reshape boulders. Every entry reshapes the contours of your life. By becoming conscious of who you are becoming, on a daily basis, you have more deliberate say in what your contours will eventually look like.
